Safe Zone

Welcome to the University at Buffalo Safe Zone Website

In the following pages we attempt to provide you with information and resources that will help you in your role as a UB Safe Zone member. If you are new to the UB Safe Zone and you and/or a group of colleagues in your department are interested in participating in the UB Safe Zone program, please contact the UB Safe Zone Coordinator, Liz Snider, at 645-2720. We require that prospective UB Safe Zone members participate in a three-hour orientation session and agree to abide by UB Safe Zone expectations.

Mission Statement

The purpose of Safe Zone is to reduce homophobia and heterosexism on the UB campus and thereby to make our campus a safer and freer environment for all members of our community regardless of sexual orientation. Safe Zone prepares staff, faculty, and students to provide support and resources on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues.
