What Men Can Do

The following provides some information regarding male victims and sexual assault.

Men are also victimized by sexual assault. And the estimates that are out there are undoubtedly underestimates. Recent studies indicate about 6% of reported rapes involve male victims.

Much of what has been said in this section applies to male victims as well.

[This is a new section, so it is still "under construction." If there is something you think should be included here, please contact us at couns-ctr@acsu.buffalo.edu]

Nevertheless, sexual violence is committed overwhelmingly by men, whether it is sexual violence against women or sexual violence against other men. To read more about this aspect of relationship violence, and what you, as a man, can do about it, go to the sub-menu heading "For and About Men" under the heading "Relationships."
